Snow Load
ASCE 7-22 Preliminary estimateConvert ground snow load to flat- and sloped-roof design snow loads. Alaska community values are built in to get you in the right range fast.

Roof snow loads follow ASCE 7-22, Chapter 7:
pf = 0.7 · Ce · Ct · Is · pg
ps = Cs · pf
- pg — ground snow load (psf)
- Ce, Ct, Is — exposure, thermal, importance factors
- Cs — roof slope factor (Fig. 7.4-1), which depends on slope, thermal condition, and whether the surface is slippery
For low-slope roofs (< 15°) a minimum snow load pm may govern. Ground snow load in Alaska is highly site-specific — the prefilled community values are rounded and illustrative; use the SEAAK Snow Loads in Alaska study, the local building department, or the ASCE 7 hazard tool for design.
